ETL SEMKO Changes UK Name Oct 1, 2003

The ETL SEMKO division of Intertek Group plc, a supplier of testing and certification services, has changed the name under which its UK operations in Leatherhead, Milton Keynes and Blackwood, South Wales will trade. The new name is Intertek Testing & Certification Ltd.

Formerly trading as ITS Testing and Certification Ltd., the company says the name change is consistent with the new public identity of ETL SEMKO’s parent company, Intertek Group plc, which redesigned its logo and shortened its name from Intertek Testing Services (ITS) this past May.

"We’re now promoting Intertek as the primary brand through the Intertek group and ETL SEMKO, and the other four divisions all have similarly redesigned their corporate identities," said Richard Bligh, vice president of Marketing at ETL SEMKO.

The company has also changed the name of its Leatherhead, UK-based ITS House to Intertek House and has changed all of Intertek’s web site and e-mail addresses accordingly.
