Mitsubishi Electric & Electronics USA Inc. has announced the promotion of Cayce Blanchard to vice president of Corporate Communications.

Ms. Blanchard will lead all internal and external communications activities for the company, and serve as the main communications liaison between Mitsubishi Electric's corporate headquarters in Japan and its U.S. operations. She had directed corporate communications since 2000.

Prior to joining Mitsubishi Electric, Ms. Blanchard was director of strategic planning and corporate relations at TECSTAR Inc., in City of Industry, CA, U.S., and director of marketing services and communications at Fluor Corporation of Irvine, CA.

Mitsubishi Electric US Group Holdings represents nearly a dozen companies that market consumer, commercial, and industrial electronics products. These include semiconductor devices; high-definition televisions, DVD players and VCRs; stadium display screens; systems and components for automobile manufacturers, elevators and escalators; heating and air-conditioning systems; factory automation equipment, power products, and other items.

With nearly 4,000 employees in more than 25 locations throughout North America, Mitsubishi Electric sales in fiscal year 2002 were approximately $2.6 billion.
