Thomson, which distributes its products under the RCA, Thomson, Technicolor, and Grass Valley brands, reported consolidated net sales for the third quarter 2003 of 2,008 million euros (U.S. $2.3 billion), compared to 2,323 million euros ($2.7 billion) for the third quarter 2002. Excluding currency movements, sales fell by 4.8 percent (13.6 percent including currency movements), according to the company. Perimeter effects added 38 million euros ($44.1 million) to net sales during the quarter. Therefore, the company said, on a like-for-like basis, consolidated net sales showed a decline of 6.6 percent excluding currency movements.
