Canon Inc President Fujio Mitarai said his firm will build a new camera factory in Oita City, Oita Prefecture, mainly to meet growing demand for digital cameras.
The plant will start operations in January 2005 and will produce 6 million digital and film cameras in fiscal 2006, Mitarai said. (Kyodo News)
