Cooktek Makes Inc.'s 500 List for Second Year Oct 2, 2003

CookTek announced that it has been
recognized for the second consecutive year as one of the fastest-growing private companies in the U.S. by Inc. Magazine, which released its 23rd annual Inc. 500 ranking of the nation's top entrepreneurial growth companies.

The ranking appears in the magazine's special Inc. 500 issue, which hits newsstands October 14.

CookTek is a leading manufacturer of induction cooking equipment for the commercial foodservice industry. During the past 5 years, despite continued stagnation in the economy, the company said it achieved a 2,496-percent increase in overall sales, climbing to the Number 51 spot from last year's initial appearance on the list at Number 270.

To be eligible for this year's Inc. 500, companies had to be independent and privately held through their fiscal year 2002, have had at least U.S. $200,000 in sales in the base year of 1998, and their 2002 sales had to exceed their 2001 sales. Inc. verifies all information using tax forms and financial statements from certified public accountants and by conducting interviews with company officials.
