Thor Appliance Company, a leading supplier of specialty home appliances, announced that it will introduce a new line of range tops, ovens and stoves under the Chambers brand name beginning in early 2004.
Chambers, one of the oldest and most recognized names in cooking appliances, will begin appearing on products in spring 2004, when the company unveils a new line of ovens. "We are excited to reintroduce one of the last great names in cooking," said Michael Lee, president of Thor’s new Chambers division. "Many people have fond memories of their old reliable Chambers oven. This new Chambers line will live up to the brand’s reputation for quality and reliability."
Beginning with the introduction of a newly designed built-in oven, Thor’s Chambers division plans to rollout a complete line of cooking appliances by the end of 2004. The new products will include high-end gas and electric ovens, stoves and range tops, including many stainless steel models. The new Chambers line will be offered online at www.thorappliances.com and through a select group of retailers specializing in home appliance sales.
The reintroduction of the Chambers brand represents the first time the name has appeared on a U.S. appliance since the late 1980s. Chambers gas ovens first became popular with consumers in the 1920s, built on a reputation of unsurpassed durability. Chambers cooking appliances continued their popularity through the 1980s, when the brand was phased out during a time of brand consolidation.
