Wahl Acquires Canadian Licensee Swenson Sep 9, 2003

Wahl Clipper Corp. has acquired Swenson Canada, a Toronto-based company that has been making and selling hair and pet clippers under license by Wahl since 1922. The acquisition is intended to streamline Wahl's Canadian marketing and service strategy, particularly for customers with operations in the U.S. and Canada, said Greg Wahl, president and CEO of Wahl Clipper Corp. Swenson will continue to manufacture select grooming products under the Wahl brand, and it will have streamlined access to products made by Wahl in the U.S., Germany and China, Mr. Wahl said.
