Intel Corp has agreed with Elpida Memory Inc to invest an additional 2.7 billion yen (about U.S. $23 million) in the sole domestic supplier of dynamic random access memory (DRAM) chips, Elpida said.
The additional investment will be made in return for non-voting stock, Elpida said, adding it plans to use the proceeds to accelerate production of high-performance DRAMs. (Kyodo News)
