Ricoh Corporation, a provider of digital office equipment, announced that effective Oct. 1, 2003, its chairman and chief executive officer, Katsumi "Kirk" Yoshida, would oversee the International Marketing Group for Ricoh Company, Ltd. in Japan, Ricoh Corporation's parent company. Mr. Yoshida will continue to serve as chairman and chief executive officer of Ricoh Corporation, which oversees Ricoh's operations in the Americas, the company said. Additionally, Mr. Yoshida will become chairman of Ricoh China. In his new marketing position, Mr. Yoshida will be responsible for sales and marketing efforts in Europe, Asia Pacific, China, and the Americas. Mr. Yoshida has been with Ricoh Company, Ltd. since 1967.
Susumu Ichioka, currently chairman of Ricoh Asia Pacific PTE, Ltd. and president of Ricoh Hong Kong Ltd., will become vice chairman of Ricoh Corporation effective Oct. 1, 2003. Mr. Ichioka will report to Mr. Yoshida and be responsible for the Ricoh, Savin, Gestetner, and Lanier brands in the Americas in addition to operations of Ricoh Canada and Ricoh Latin America.
