Whirlpool Corporation today announced the appointment of Esat Sezer as a corporate vice president and chief information officer (CIO), effective Sept.1.
Mr. Sezer joined Whirlpool in July 2001 as a vice president in charge of global information systems. Previously, he worked for Colgate-Palmolive Company in New York, U.S. as the company's director for global information technology.
Mr. Sezer, 41 years old, succeeds R. David Butler, currently Whirlpool's corporate vice president and chief information officer. Butler today announced his retirement, effective Oct. 1. He joined Whirlpool in mid-1998 after serving as corporate director of information systems for Dow Chemical Company.
Separately, Whirlpool announced that Frederick L. Reller was appointed vice president of Human Resources for the company's Corporate Technology Organization.
Mr. Reller, 41, previously worked for Nortel Networks, Ltd., as a regional vice president.
