Barbeques Galore Reports Improved Fiscal Q2 Sales Aug 12, 2003

Barbeques Galore Limited, a chain of specialty retail stores that sell barbecues, fireside products, and related accessories to the Australian and U.S. market, today announced its sales for the second quarter and 6 months ended July 31, 2003.

For the quarter, the company reported total net sales of U.S. $51.7 million, a 5.1-percent increase over the $49.2 million reported for the same period in 2002.

For the 6 months ended July 31, the retail chain reported total net sales of U.S. $86.9 million a 1.8-percent increase over the $85.4 million reported for the same period in 2002.

Barbeques Galore also reported that it recently opened a temporary store in Mile End, South Australia to replace a store in Keswick, which was destroyed by fire in April 2003. In addition, the company’s Licensee store in Gladstone, Queensland, closed on July 31. No new stores were opened and no existing stores closed in the U.S. during this period.
