Pentax Corp. said it will launch its first single-reflex digital camera on Sept. 6, 2003 with the aim of taking a 20-percent share in the world's single-reflex digital camera market in 3 years.
The 6.1 megapixel Pentax ist D weighs approximately 550 g, excluding a battery, reportedly the lightest among similar digital cameras, and is compatible with 110 Pentax lenses for conventional cameras, the camera maker said. (Kyodo News)
