Concord Camera Corp. today announced the appointment of Rod H. King to the position of vice president & director of Sales - Americas, effective July 22, 2003.
Mr. King has more than 20 years of sales, marketing, and management experience in the imaging and consumer products industries. His primary responsibilities will be to lead the company's sales efforts in the U.S., Canada and Latin America.
Mr. King most recently served as senior vice president -- Worldwide Sales & Marketing for SmartDisk Corporation, where he was responsible for the company's line of software, connectivity, and media storage products. During his tenure, Mr. King built a regional consumer and OEM sales distribution network in the U.S. and abroad, refreshed consumer brand and marketing strategies, and secured new distribution in all major channels, including top national accounts and consumer electronic outlets.
Prior to this, he held positions of increasing responsibility during a 15-year career at Fuji Photo Film U.S.A. (Fujifilm), culminating in his role as vice president and general manager -- Consumer Markets from 1997-2000. In this position, he was responsible for sales, marketing, operations and division financial performance for Fujifilm's $700 million U.S. consumer business.
From 1995-1997, he served as vice president of Sales -- Consumer Markets at Fujifilm, where he was responsible for all consumer market products including photographic film, conventional, and digital cameras and scanners and one-time use cameras.
Prior to joining Fujifilm, Mr. King held positions of increasing responsibility at Polaroid Corporation, where he rose to the position of senior marketing manager, Cameras. In this role, he managed all of Polaroid's consumer photographic hardware business and was responsible for product development, positioning, dealer programs, promotions, and pricing.
Mr. King also served on the Board of Directors of the PhotoImaging Manufacturers & Distributors Association (PMDA) from 1992-2000, including three consecutive terms as president. Established in 1939, the PMDA serves more than 70 member companies helping to promote imaging, involve companies in charting the industry's future and apprise members of new technologies and business methods to help them advance their businesses.
