Skyworth Digital Holdings Ltd., a leading television manufacturer for the Chinese market, said it sold 394,000 televisions domestically in July, up 49 percent from a year earlier, generating 65-percent more revenue at HK$481 million (U.S. $61.7 million).
The figure brings domestic TV sales in the April to July period to 1.3 million units, up 35 percent on year, while revenue from TVs rose 43 percent to HK$1.65 billion, the company said in a statement late Thursday.
The company’s financial year begins in April.
Skyworth said it continued to record an increase in revenue generated from sales of high-end television products during July. Meanwhile, the average selling prices of its TVs in China maintained positive year-on-year growth during the period, the TV maker said, without giving further details.
Skyworth said its overseas sales figure for July, to be issued later this month, is expected to show signs of an improvement.
In June, overseas TV sales dropped 10 percent on year to 151,000 units, but rose 28 percent compared with May. (Dow Jones)
