The ZigBee(TM) Alliance announced Samsung Electronics Co. Ltd. has joined Honeywell, Invensys, Motorola, Mitsubishi Electric Corporation, and Philips as a member of its board of directors and a promoter of the organization. "We chose to be a part of the ZigBee Alliance because we believe in the standard they are creating and want to be one of the leaders of the process," said new board member Bryan K.S. Chang, principal engineer, i-Networking Lab, Samsung Electronics Co. Ltd.
The ZigBee Alliance is an association of companies working together to enable reliable, cost-effective, low-power, wirelessly networked monitoring and control products based on an open global standard. Additional information can be found at www.zigbee.org.
