CMA Looks to Promote Home Cooking With Campaign Jul 10, 2003

The Cookware Manufacturers Association has launched a nationwide publicity campaign urging consumers to eat home-cooked meals as part of a healthy lifestyle. While healthy eating is one goal, another is to give the cookware market a boost.

"Obviously we hope people will go out and buy lots of cookware," said Hugh Rushing, executive vice president of the CMA. The move comes as more consumers turn to restaurant takeout and home meal replacement foods from grocery stores instead of preparing food at home. The association plans to promote recipes on its Web site, along with advice on how to use cookware and bakeware to make healthy meals in under 30 minutes.
