Philips Electronics announced plans to be one of the top three players in the digital television networks market in the next three years. The company’s plan reportedly involves retail sales, service, providing the latest technology, and maintaining good working relationships with pay-TV operators. The company said its "Connected Home" approach, which connects devices in the home to one another, is the key to its new strategy. Research undertaken by the company shows that there is a growing market for such products. According to studies performed by the company in Europe, 52 percent of Europeans want to integrate their hi-fi, television, and video equipment into one unit. (PBI Media)
