Salton, Inc., a marketer and distributor of branded, high-quality small appliances, announced today that it won the prestigious Consumer Electronics Association’s (CEA) Mark of Excellence Award for Best Video Component in 2003 at the 2003 Spring Electronic House Expo (EHX).
The first product in Salton's Beyond(TM) connected home initiative, the iCEBOX(TM) is a web-enabled kitchen entertainment center that provides consumers with easy access to information, communication, and entertainment.
Each year, manufacturers, distributors, and installing dealers in the U.S. $15-billion dollar connected home industry nominate products for the CEA's Mark of Excellence Awards. The award panel of industry experts evaluated more than 80 entries from 75 companies, recognizing only the finest achievements in home automation and networking. This year's winners touch all aspects of the connected home, including best video component, and were announced during a gala award ceremony on Friday, Feb. 28 at the EHX Spring 2003 in Orlando, FL, U.S..
