To enhance the strategic services available to its small business members, the Consumer Electronics Association (CEA) announced the creation of its small business program. CEA defines a small business as any company with $30 million or less in annual revenue. The goal of the program, which will be managed by the newly formed CEA Small Business Council, is to leverage CEA's resources to serve the needs of small companies. All CEA members, regardless of company size, are invited to participate in the Small Business Council and program.
Content for the CEA small business program will be delivered via several channels, including webcasts, teleconferences, an online ce.org bulletin board and presentations at CEA conferences. Topics addressed will include: management, finance, marketing, channel and sales development as well as licensing, copyright and patent applications. The program also seeks to involve senior industry executives in a mentoring initiative to cultivate small business executives' entrepreneurial skills.
