LG Electronics Indonesia said it will increase its production of TV sets from 1 million units in 2002 to 1.2 million in order to meet increasing demand.
"The demand for TV sets in Indonesia is quite high," Sung Khiun, the company's marketing and sales manager, said after opening a company showroom and service center.
He said most of the company's TV sets still went to Java, reaching 70 percent while only 30 percent had gone outside the island.
He also said LG Electronics Indonesia expected to secure a 20-percent share in the country's electronics market this year and 40 percent in the computer monitor market.
The company expects its income in 2003 to increase to U.S. $300 million from $250 million last year. (ANTARA, Asia Pulse)
