The Alliance for the Polyurethanes Industry is issuing a call for papers and posters on the latest uses for polyurethanes in appliance insulation to be presented at Polyurethanes Expo 2003. The association also announces that the dates for the Expo have changed, and the show will now take place Oct. 1-3 in Orlando, FL, U.S. Paper abstracts are due by Feb. 15; poster abstracts are due by May 2. Polyurethanes Expo 2003 is expected to bring together an audience of more than 1,500 manufacturers and processors of polyurethane-based products in all industrial sectors. Technical papers and posters may address innovations and developments in flexible slabstock, flexible molded, coatings, equipment/machinery, cast elastomers, rigid foam, thermoplastic polyurethanes, integral skin, RIM, binders/fillers, adhesives and sealants or fundamentals. Markets examined will include construction, transportation, furniture, appliances, footwear, bedding, carpet cushion, packaging, textile/fibers, tanks/pipes, and sports/leisure. Industry issues discussed will include emissions, industrial hygiene, legislation/regulations, flammability, waste management, environmental performance and e-commerce.
