Samsung: Big Profits, Uncertain Outlook Jan 16, 2003

A report from Reuters says Samsung Electronics Company fourth-quarter profits were almost quadruple, an increase credited to mobile phone sales. The company detailed plans for new investment to offset its "very uncertain" outlook for 2003.

Samsung electronics missed profit and sales expectations, Reuters said, caused in part by special performance bonuses for employees of about U.S. $300 million.
