Sharp Electronics Corporation showcased key home appliance products at the 2003 International Housewares Show. The company is demonstrating its complete line of 2003 microwave ovens, a high-speed oven, bagless cyclonic vacuum cleaners, air purifiers , and kitchen-mountable AQUOS(TM) Liquid Crystal Televisions, in kitchen lifestyle settings at Sharp's booth.

  • Sharp's R-90GC high-speed oven reportedly cooks food up to five times faster than conventional ovens, and is pre-programmed to automatically cook more than 200 foods and recipes. The high speed oven features a 2,900-W advanced hot-air circulation system that allows for the rapid cooking.

  • Sharp's over-the-counter (OTC) Carousel(R) microwave oven line was developed by Sharp as a new product category in response to consumer demand for more flexible microwave oven solutions that help reclaim counter space. These 24-in wide microwaves are reportedly easy to install and do not require special built-in kits or tools. The OTC microwaves also feature accent and task lighting, with Auto-Touch controls on the door at eye level.
  • Sharp's upright vacuum cleaners feature cyclonic technology, making them versatile enough to clean both bare floors and deep carpets with equal efficiency, high-performance, and power. These bagless models also are said to be substantially lighter (approximately 16 lbs.) and quieter than comparable vacuum cleaners.
  • Sharp has entered the air purifier category with the introduction of an air purification system. Based on Sharp's Plasmacluster(TM) Ion technology, the new air purification system is Library Quiet and can easily be situated in any room of the home or office to provide clean, comfortable air quality. Sharp's air purifiers will be available in spring 2003.
  • Sharp adds more styling and size options to its line of AQUOS Liquid Crystal Televisions. Select models in 10-, 13- and 15-in screen sizes are available with mounting brackets, reportedly making them ideal for kitchen applications. Lightweight and less than 2 1/2-in thin, Sharp's AQUOS series offers elegant design, high brightness, superior picture quality and stereo speakers.
