Kodak Appoints Head of European Subsidiary Dec 23, 2002

Eastman Kodak Company today announced that Alain H. Popelard has been named to lead the company's European, African, and Middle Eastern Region (EAMER).

Mr. Popelard, associate director of Kodak's Global Manufacturing and Logistics organization, and vice president, will become chairman of Eastman Kodak S.A., the company's European subsidiary headquartered in Geneva. He succeeds Pierre E. Cohade, who recently announced his intention to leave Kodak at the end of the year. In addition, Mr. Popelard is appointed regional operations manager for EAMER.

As chairman of EKSA, he will provide senior management oversight to all company operations in the region and will report to Martin M. Coyne II, group executive of the company's Photography Group. As Regional Operations Manager, he will be responsible for working with the regional business and functional leaders to ensure effective coordination and delivery of infrastructure services.

Mr. Popelard joined Kodak in 1969 as an operations researcher in Kodak's French subsidiary at Kodak Pathe. He worked in a variety of positions before being named the French Manufacturing manager in 1988. In 1992, he joined the European Region headquarters in London as the European Photofinishing Regional Business Unit Manager and in 1997, he moved to Rochester as Director of Strategy and Strategic Opportunities in Imaging Materials Manufacturing. He was named to his current position and appointed a vice president in February 2000.
