Molex Incorporated, a global electronic component company, and Newark Electronics, a global catalog distributor owned by Premier Farnell plc, entered into an agreement that makes Newark a direct distributor of Molex's full line of products in North America. The effective date of the agreement was July 1, 2002.
According to Molex Director of Distribution Eric Sussman, Newark will increase Molex's visibility with many prototype, design, and MRO (Maintenance, Repair and Other) groups who generally purchase from catalog distributors.
"In partnering with Newark, a well-established name in the electronics industry, we will be able to reach new customers and new markets," Mr. Sussman said.
Molex is a 64-year-old global manufacturer of electronic, electrical, and fiber optic interconnection systems. The company is in Lisle, IL, U.S., and it operates 54 manufacturing facilities in 19 countries.
