Korea Increases Chinese Appliance Imports Dec 3, 2002

Imports of home appliances from China expanded 20.2 percent from a year earlier, the Electronics Industry Association of Korea said. The Chinese home appliances imports now account for 35.5 percent of the domestic market, up 8.1 percentage points from 27.4 per cent last year. The association said imports of Chinese home appliances through October this year totaled U.S. $687.4 million, up 20.2 percent from $566.2 million last year and $618,000 more than exports of home appliances to China from Korea.
