Sales of home electrical appliances at big retailers in Japan fell 2.5 percent in October from a year earlier to 169.8 billion yen (U.S. $1.4 billion) for the second straight monthly dip, the Nippon Electric Big-Stores Association said. Association officials blamed the drop on a slump in sales of PCs, cellular phones, and audio equipment. (Kyodo News)
