Eastman Kodak , the U.S. photo products company, has announced plans to cut up to 1,700 jobs, including 500 at its assembly operation in Rochester, NY, U.S. where it is based, and 300 positions at a graphic arts film unit in Guadalajara, Mexico.
The company also said it would stop making disposable cameras in the U.S. The photographic products company's expects the moves will contribute to U.S. $200 million in annual savings that it outlined in October.

Kodak will also close Citipix, a business which provides aerial imagery to the Geographic Information Systems community. About 140 jobs will be lost at the unit. The maker of cameras and film has a worldwide workforce of 75,000. (Financial Times)
