Whirlpool Corp. is toying with the idea of a multibrand strategy in India and is all set to introduce an original brand under the name of Opera. Whirlpool is currently test marketing Opera in Maharashtra and Andhra Pradesh and a formal launch is expected in the next financial year. "We will be selling refrigerators and washing machines under the new brand," informed Raj Jain, managing director of Whirlpool India. (The Economic Times)
