Circuit City Sees Third-Quarter Loss Nov 6, 2002

Circuit City Stores Inc. will have a loss this quarter as consumers trim spending on more-profitable items including satellite television systems. Shares of the U.S. electronics retailer fell as much as 17 percent. The company expects a third-quarter loss of U.S. $0.05-$0.08 a share, excluding store-remodeling costs, in the quarter ending Nov. 30, rather than an unspecified small profit, spokeswoman Celeste Gunter said.
