Hitachi Group to Liquidate 300 Firms Nov 1, 2002

Hitachi Ltd. said it will liquidate about 300 of its 1,200 group firms over 3 years to improve operational efficiency and earnings. "Under the current business structure, the Hitachi group would likely find it difficult to expand business and improve profitability," Hitachi President Etsuhiko Shoyama said. (Kyodo News)
