Zamil Air Conditioners upgraded its quality systems from ISO 9002:1994 to ISO 9001:2000. The certification is for its manufacturing facilities at Dammam, Saudi Arabia. The scope of the certification includes the "Design, Manufacture and Servicing of Air Conditioners and Air Conditioning Equipment."
 The certification came after an audit by ABS Quality Evaluations Inc., and the certification is said to have come without any non-conformity.
The ISO 9001:2000 standard provides requirements for the quality management system. Organizations which have used ISO 9001/9002/9003:1994 standards can now use just one standard - ISO 9001:2000, Zamil explained. In the future, this will be the only standard to which an organization will be certified.
Zamil Air Conditioners is a unit of Zamil Industrial Investment Company (ZIIC) and is the largest supplier of air-conditioners in the Middle East. It manufactures and markets a range of products including room air-conditioners, package units, and large commercial and industrial air-conditioners and chillers.
In addition to its primary manufacturing base is in Dammam, Zamil Air Conditioners operates the Clima Tech factory in Austria, making specialized air-handling units, and Geoclima in Italy, producing water Chillers.
