Seiko Epson Corporation will nearly double the investment in its joint venture in Tianjin in north China, according to sources with Epson (China) Corporation Ltd.
Epson China Chairman Norihisa Takebayashi said the move reaffirms the company's commitment to investment and growth in China.
Epson will increase its investment in Tianjin Epson Company, Ltd. from 2.9 billion Japanese yen to 4.9 billion Japanese yen (U.S. $42 million). The increase will triple the production capacity of the joint venture.
The investment followed the company's investment in a Shenzhen factory in China's Guangdong Province in April. The company has reportedly made more than 5.3 billion yuan ($640 million) worth of investment around China. (Asia Pulse)
