The Custom Electronic Design and Installation Association (CEDIA) announced that Darla Hineman has been hired as the association's new trade show director and that Don Gilpin and Nicholas Pasyanos have been promoted to new executive positions.
Ms. Hineman comes to CEDIA from Kiwanis International, where she worked 18 years as a manager of meeting services and conventions. As CEDIA's new director of trade shows, she coordinates the planning, promotion and day-to-day operations of CEDIA EXPO and other industry-related events that involve CEDIA and its membership. Ms. Hineman fills the trade show director position vacated by Don Gilpin, who was promoted to CEDIA's director of operations.
Mr. Gilpin, CEDIA's trade show director for 3 years, has spearheaded EXPO's exponential growth with worldwide attendance reaching nearly 20,000 this year. In his new position as director of operations, Gilpin is responsible for guiding and directing the professional staff in the development, production and promotion of the association's products and services.
Nicholas Pasyanos, director of operations at CEDIA since 2000, has been responsible for the expansion of CEDIA's operations and programs to 35 countries as well as a growing staff and budget. In his new position as director of finance and public policy, Pasyanos is responsible for the financial management of the 2,500-member global association and will manage all legislative initiatives that affect the association's membership. CEDIA is a global trade association of companies that specialize in designing and installing electronic systems for the home. The association was founded in September 1989 and has approximately 2,500 member companies worldwide.
