Dutch Philips Electronics NV said on Tuesday that it would cut 150 jobs at its semiconductor factories in the Netherlands.
"We are integrating two factories into one big one, in order to increase efficiency," Philips spokesman Geert van Doorn said.
About 120 jobs would be cut in 2003 and another 30 in 2004, the consumer electronics producer said.
The CNV labor union and Philips said about half of those being dismissed might be re-hired within Philips. (Reuters)
