ISH China 2002 - The China International Trade Fair for Sanitation, Heating & Air-Conditioning, showed substantial growth in the number of attendees during its run in Beijing September 24-27.
ISH said 13,185 visitors were registered at the door - 40 percent more than the previous ISH China show in 2000. Approximately 500 of the attendees came from outside China.
ISH China organizers Messe Frankfurt and CIEC Exhibition Company said net exhibition space increased 35 percent compared with the 2000. The total number of exhibitors was up 24 percent to 220 compared to 2000. Forty percent of exhibitors were from outside China. A total of 19 countries were represented, including a national pavilion from Germany with 24 companies.
"The success of ISH China 2002 clearly illustrates the necessity for a professional marketing platform in Beijing for the heating, sanitation and air-conditioning sectors," stated Betty Heywood, general manager for Messe Frankfurt Hong Kong. "Our accomplishment here reflects the rapid development of China’s construction industry and growing demand for quality building products."
Mr. Andreas Lücke, Secretary General of the Association of European Heating Industry (EHI) agreed. "This fair has been an unequivocal success," he said at the close of the show. "For the European heating industry, ISH China has established itself firmly as the leading event in China."
The next global ISH trade show, ISH North America, is scheduled for Toronto, October 31 - November 2, 2002.
