According to information released yesterday by the Consumer Electronics Association (CEA), unit sales of DTV products totaled 170,296 for the month of April. This represents a 45-percent increase over the same period in 2002. CEA reported that dollar revenues for the month totaled U.S. $250.6 million—up 17 percent from last year.
Year-to-date factory-to-dealer sales now total 833,608 units—a 58-percent increase from the previous year, according to CEA. Year-to-date dollar revenues are reported at close to $1.3 billion—up 34 percent.
CEA estimates that 4 million units of DTV products will be sold in 2003, 5.4 million in 2004, 8 million in 2005, and 10.5 million in 2006.
