Small-appliance maker National Presto reported an increase in sales and earnings for 2002. The company said sales climbed 12.2 percent to U.S. $133.7 million in 2002 from $119.1 million in the prior year, while earnings rose 3.8 percent to $8.7 million from $6.3 million. Sales in its housewares and small-appliance division increased by $4.8 million.
The company noted that its business with Wal-Mart accounted for 37 percent of consolidated net sales for 2002. In 2001, Wal-Mart accounted for 37 percent of sales, while Costco garnered 11 percent. In 2000, Wal-Mart accounted for 41 percent of sales and Target accounted for 11 percent. Back
