AGA Rangemaster Group plc expects good progress in terms of its full-year 2014 results, according to a July 3.
AGA, the British-based appliance producer, said the group's sales and orders continued to improve although markets remain variable. The strengthening housing market in the UK is a positive factor for the company, and this has slowly driven increases in spending on cooking appliances, AGA's primary products.
Orders year-to-date were up about 6% and sales were up almost 4%, which was also the rate of increase in the second half of 2013.
AGA brands Fired Earth and AGA Marvel in North America reported increases of over 10%. AGA brand and Rangemaster orders were up more than 6%. Brands Waterford Stanley and Grange were significantly down.
AGA is investing in products and marketing in 2014 to support growth. New AGA products include the AGA City60 and Dual Control gas. The Rangemaster 60 is scheduled to launch soon, and is expected to widen the group's market reach.
The AGA City60 launch coincides with the opening of a new AGA retail shop in London. The appliance is designed for city living and lets the group better address different areas of the housing market, including apartments and terraced houses. This electric appliance is equipped with:
• programmable roasting and simmering ovens
• a boiling-simmering plate
• wheels to ease installation
• room venting
The unit is priced in the UK at £4,995.
