Electrolux will invest $30 million in its cold appliances plant in Anderson, SC, to add advanced manufacturing capability and increase capacity.
The Anderson plant produces top-mount and under-counter refrigerators.
The new investment comes on the heels of another recent investment, also of $30 million. The earlier $30 million investment added a Refrigeration Research and Development Center and made other improvements to the Anderson facility.
Jack Truong, president and CEO of Electrolux Major Appliances North America, said the new investment will drive growth and will have a positive impacting on the company's employees in that region of South Carolina.
The Anderson plant is 810,000 square feet and sits on 225 acres. The plant has 1,900 full-time and contract employees. It produces one out of every two top-freezer refrigerators shipped in North America.
“Electrolux is a great employer and corporate citizen in South Carolina,” said Gov. Nikki Haley. “We congratulate them on their additional $30 million investment in Anderson – a sure sign of their continuing commitment to our state.”
