Water heater maker A. O. Smith engineered a new compact commercial water heater with technology enabling low nitrous oxide emissions.

David Chisolm, vice president of marketing for the company, said the Master-Fit ultra-low NOx gas water heater for California markets has the shortest design on the market, as well as multiple water connections.

"Innovative engineering also increased the accuracy and dependability of the control system, reduced excess heat from the burner, and improved the unit’s overall reliability and longevity," Chisolm said.

The unit is offered in an 81-gallon, 65-inch-tall model and 100-gallon, 73-inch-tall model.
