A Third of Homes Worldwide Could Have Networks by 2018

Worldwide home network penetration was at 24.8% in 2013 according to ABI Research, and the firm expects penetration to reach 33.2% by 2018.

Factors driving growth including the spread of broadband services and the demand for multiscreen video services.

"Wi-Fi remains the most important networking technology, but despite an ever growing number of connected devices in consumer households, the demand for next generation wireless technologies will likely occur via normal upgrade cycles rather than technology driven purchases," said Senior Analyst Michael Inouye.
