A Final Rule from the United States Federal Trade Commission puts in place a new Department of Energy (DOE) test procedure for TVs.

The Commission revised the TV testing and reporting requirements, in response to a new DOE television test procedure published in October 2013. The new amendments help ensure the rule's television labeling requirements are consistent with the Energy Policy and Conservation Act (EPCA), which mandates that FTC labels reflect applicable DOE test procedures.

The amendments become effective on May 9, 2014.
