The Association of Home Appliance Manufacturers Canada (AHAM Canada) named Kevin Girdharry its Manager of Regulatory Affairs.
Girdharry will be responsible for monitoring and assessing the legislative and regulatory impact of issues—including environmental sustainability, energy efficiency, consumer product safety, and appliance product standards—on AHAM members in Canada.
Prior to joining AHAM Canada, Girdharry was a research and policy analyst for the Certified General Accountants Association of Canada, and worked for several years for Estee Lauder in the United States and Canada.
“AHAM Canada welcomes Kevin’s expertise and enthusiasm as we represent the industry before the Canadian federal and provincial governments and work closely with technical bodies that impact the home appliance industry," said Vice President and General Manager Bruce Rebel notes.
Girdharry has a Master of Science in Economics from Louisiana State University and holds a bachelor’s degree from York University in Information Technology and Economics.
AHAM Canada is the Canadian office of the Association of Home Appliance Manufacturers, whose members produce the majority of home appliances sold in the United States and Canada. Its membership includes manufacturers of major, portable, and floor care appliances and suppliers to the industry. AHAM also is a standards development organization, authoring appliance test standards as well as appliance sustainability standards in partnership with the Canadian Standards Association and UL Environment.
