Paolo Falcioni became the new director general on of the European Committee of Domestic Equipment Manufacturers (CECED) on January 1.
Falcioni took over from Luigi Meli, who was the leader CECED from 1994-2013.
"I’m looking forward to the challenge of driving forward CECED’s activities and ensuring that the important voice of the household appliance industry in Europe is heard," said Falcioni.
He said 2014 would be a big year for the appliance industry in Europe, with the revision of the EU’s energy label, the 2030 climate and energy package, and the ongoing need for greater resource efficiency within Europe’s economy.
“I would also like to pay tribute to my predecessor, Luigi Meli for his contribution to making CECED a success over his many years of service," Falcioni added. "He leaves CECED in very good shape. I aim to build upon his record of achievement."
Paolo Falcioni was born in Fabriano, Italy in 1966 and has 12 years of experience working in the household appliance industry. Prior to joining the appliance industry he worked in telecommunications sector. He has a degree in Electronic Engineering from the University of Ancona.
