NEMA's Electroindustry Business Conditions Index (EBCI) for current conditions in North America was at 56.3 in October, down slightly from 56.7 in June, the last time the index was released.

October's result remains above the 50-point mark, showing signs of improvement in the business environment. Respondents for the most part were optimistic regarding confidence in future business. This comes despite a decrease in the October EBCI for North American conditions six months forward. This measure was at 71.9 in October, from 83.3 in June.
