Samsung Electronics Company announced a global culinary initiative known as Samsung Club des Chefs, bringing together chefs from around the world to collaborate with the company on the development of new kitchen appliances.
The chefs gathered with Samsung executives at the first Samsung House, a custom-designed home space in New York's SoHo neighborhood where Samsung exhibited its U.S. product line.
Samsung said the collaboration will integrate the expertise and insights from chefs with Samsung's own teams, from the early product development stages through testing and final production. The aim will be to develop a new line of kitchen appliances.
"We're dedicated to uncovering how you can achieve a more refined, more elevated experience in every room in your home," said Boo-Keun Yoon, President and CEO of Consumer Electronics at Samsung Electronics Co. Ltd.
The initial group assembled for Samsung Club des Chefs includes:
* Michel Troisgros, third-generation owner of a three Michelin star restaurant since 1968, and president of Samsung Club des Chefs.
* Eric Trochon, winner of Meilleurs Ouvriers de France 2011, one of the most difficult national cooking contests in France. Eric plays multiple roles as renowned chef, food stylist, and professor at the Ferrandi Culinary School in Paris, France.
* Christopher Kostow, the second American-born and the third youngest chef ever to receive three Michelin stars.
* Frank Castronovo and Frank Falcinelli (The Franks), acclaimed Brooklyn, New York-based tastemakers and regarded as being at the forefront of the American chef-restaurateur movement.
