The Home Appliances business segment of Toshiba Corp. (Tokyo) had fiscal year 2012 net sales of 591.5 billion yen (approx. US$6,292.6 million), up 3%, or 16.2 billion yen, from FY 2011. Home Appliances had FY 2012 operating income of 2.4 billion yen (approx. $25.5 million), up 0.3 billion yen from FY 2011.

The Home Appliances segment saw higher Lighting business sales (primarily in LED sales), overseas Air-Conditioning business sales, and White Goods appliances business sales.
The Lighting business saw higher operating income. The Toshiba White Goods business saw operating income decline due to currency exchange shifts and other factors.
Toshiba Corp. overall had FY 2012 net sales of 5,800.3 billion yen, down 300 billion yen from FY 2011. The corporation had an operating income of 194.3 billion yen, down 8.4 billion yen from FY 2011.
Other business segments include Digital Products (TVs, notebook PCs and tablet computers, and printers); Electronic Devices & Components (flash memory, data storage drives, and discrete semiconductors); and Social Infrastructure (power generation and medical devices).
