Global Economic Indicators Show U.S. Growth Firming Mar 1, 2013

Economic growth was firming in the United States and the United Kingdom, according to OECD data released in February 2013 on global composite leading indicators (CLIs) in December 2012. CLIs showed growth rates were diverging among other major global economies.

CLIs indicated that the economy in the UK were slightly weaker than the previous month's assessment.

Growth signs are seen in CLI trend in Japan and Brazil.

Euro Area--and notably in Italy and Germany--CLIs indicate stabilization in prospects for growth. Weak growth is still expected in France.

China and India CLIs indicate growth is below trend when compared with the previous month's assessment.

Canada and Russia CLIs indicate growth below trend.
