GE is suing Whirlpool Corp. and several affiliates over price fixing on compressor regulators for refrigerators.
GE's suit alleges that, as far back as 1996, Whirlpool and allied compressor suppliers restrained competition in compressor regulators. GE's filing claims it paid higher-than-competitive prices for compressor regulators and was denied innovation that could have led to producing more innovative, higher-efficiency refrigerators.
General Electric Company filed suit in United States District Court for the Western District of Kentucky on Feb. 15, 2013. Named as defendants are:
* Whirlpool Corporation
* Whirlpool S. A.
* Embraco North America, Inc.
* Danfoss A/S
* Danfoss Flensburg GmbH
* Danfoss, LLC
* Household Compressors Holding SpA
* ACC USA, LLC
